A perfectly clean house, all the time.

So I hit on this thought late last night, so shoot me if it goes to straight? Is that the right line?  Maybe my hubby knows. Anyway, I was thinking of a way to always have a perfectly clean house. We had a party a few weeks back and have wanted to try to keep the house just was clean as it was, for the most part we are doing better, but it hasn't stayed as clean, it might be impossible, that is until I figured out how to keep it clean. Here are my steps to a clean house.

1. First you have to clean it, clean it like you have never cleaned before, under the couches, dust the moldings, clean out the dryer lint, windex the peep holes in your doors, everything.  Sure it will take time, it is hard work cleaning everything, but follow my list and it will be the last time you have to clean your house like this ever again, trust me. ; )

2. Never cook again, yep, not only do you get a clean house, but you also get out of kitchen duty. Sure you need things to eat, just load up on fresh fruit and veggies you can eat raw. And, I will be generous here, get cold cereal, ones you can eat right out of the box. If you must have more than that, stock up on paper goods. Ones super cheap, cause you are just gonna toss those babies. Buy only foods you can eat with your hands. Crackers, carrot sticks, pop cycles, I think you get the point.  You put a lot of time and effort into cleaning that kitchen, why ruin it by making tuna casserole? No one ever died from eating snacks, want something hot, eat out.  Nope no take out, that will create more of mess than you want at this point. Save yourself trouble while you move your stove out to clean under it, just unplug that baby, so you won't be tempted to whip up some funeral potatoes.

3. This step will be the hardest, wear the same clothes everyday. Come on, you can do this one, think of all the time and energy you will save on doing laundry. No clothes to fold, no socks to sort, no pants to iron. Just pick out your most versatile outfit and stick to it. Wear it, until it falls off of you, then you can pick the next outfit you want to wear to death. This is how they saved lots of time in the olden days, they had just a few outfits to wear, you didn't see them hoarding up on fabric softener did you?  Nope, just one change of clothes will be just fine. Beside it will help you figure out just who your true friends are. You don't need some wanna be fashion police on you all day do you? No way, you want someone who wants you around for you, not because your clothes are clean and fresh smelling.

4. This step maybe easier for some of you than others. Stop taking showers or bathing the children. Why? That just messes up the bathroom, so go ala french and give up the soap. But I am sure this will be hard for some of you, so you can ween yourselves slowly, and take showers while wearing your clothes, so you get two for one, clean body, clean clothes. But I am warning you, it will cause a lot of water dripping issues, so use this time to mop the floors. As you head outdoors to air dry.

See, doesn't my plan just sound perfect, if you don't eat, no dirty dishes, if you don't change your clothes, no laundry, no showers, no soap buildup. You will also have to toss out any toys your children have, never get the mail, now will you won't be able to have any sort of celebrations or holidays, that just opens up your home for all sorts of clutter. I plan on starting tomorrow, I will let you know how it goes.

P.S. I pulled these images off of google, just for a touch of color. enjoy!

So I was selfish.

Today I slept in, which wasn't hard to do, because I got to bed late, and was woken up by a baby more than once last night. But because of this I had a decision to make, go work out while the babies were still locked in their beds, or get them up, and hope that at some point I would be able to get a work out in later in the day. As a mom, you face tough choices everyday, that aren't really big choices, in the long run, but can be very important for your well being and your child's. I know if I want to be around for my grandchildren, I need to make my health a priority now, because of my family history. So I decided for my mental health today, and my physical health twenty years from now, to work out while keeping the babies  in bed. Why would I take the time to post online about how I was selfish and decided to work out for 30 minutes, while leaving my children awake in their beds? So other mothers will know that they aren't alone in the choices they make.  Much is said about how women judge each other, that we easily find fault with each other, and we need to stop that. Our children give us enough mom guilt as it is, we don't need to add to each others.  Young mom vs. old moms, working moms vs. stay at home moms, single moms vs. the world.  I have been all of these, I had my first child at 20, my last at 36.  I worked full time while my husband stayed home with my baby and went to school, I was a single mom going to school and working part time. I was married and working full time, while my husband worked full time. I am a stay at home mom while my husband works two jobs.  But I can say that each time I was a MOM, that was trying to do what was best for my CHILDREN.  Whether that was working so he would have food to eat and clothes to wear or being able to comfort them while staying at home.  We need to remember that while we start to judge other women, bottom line, whether we have children, or not, whether we work or not, we are judging ourselves and bringing all women down. The world tells us we can have it all. Our husbands want a clean house, warm dinner, and a smoking hot wife. But from each other we expect so much more, we expect perfection, while knowing just how hard it can be. So lets lay off of each other, give women a break, and maybe, just maybe, we can make the world a better place for the next round of females.  So I wanted to share with you just one of the choices I made, knowing that even as I ask for others not to judge, I will be today, but maybe I won't be tomorrow.

Two off my list, yippie!!

I finished two things today, sure they were the two easiest on the list, but that is just what you need to tackle, the easy ones to give you momentum to keep going. It feels good, I have marked one off, but not the other one yet.  Been too busy changing dirty behinds to make it into the bedroom.

I changed some framed art work around in the house. I asked my hubs if he was ok with it, and he didn't notice, so that tells me, he is ok with it. If you walk by it three times and don't notice, don't tell me later that you care.

On a side note, Kodak sucks, don't buy them, don't use them.  If you try to complain about them on facebook, they will just delete it. I guess they don't like constructive criticism. If I had more energy I would do more about it.  Too bad I don't have a bunch of followers, that I can get to flash mop their page, and maybe then they will pay attention.

Have a great night.

Screw New Years Resolutions, I am actually going to be productive.

I know people like to make resolutions, and I have in the past, but who really keeps them? You just end just kicking yourself if you don't, then you give up on the idea completely.

So this year I decided to go in another direction.  I decided to make a list of all the projects I have started, or wanted to start, that I haven't finished.  First, I thought about making a list of 52 of them, one per week, but I was inspired to change the number to 34.  I had a strong impression that this was the right number for me, that way I can have more time to do the larger ones.  I also was a bit realistic, for instance, I want to finish off the laundry room, so I split that into three steps, framing, dry walling and tiling the floor.  So if I finish the whole place I can knock off three things from my list, or if I can't finish all of it, some of it still counts.

I also added a few simple things, like painting and hanging a shelf, in the little boys room.  I had it years ago in my living room, but I now want it red, currently the third coat is drying, I think it needs one more, than that is it, I don't need it to be perfect, just red, then I can hang it, and then I get to cross it off my list. Do you know how good that will feel?  To have something crossed off the list, I can't wait. Plus it will look really great in their room.

I have other practical things in the list also, like making Christmas present, so I can think about them long before December.

My hubs wanted me to add working out, but to me that really isn't something I can ever stop, so it can't be on a list to be crossed off, unless it was a daily to do list. But I have to say, after not being able to work out for a long while, I was able to walk today, and it felt great. I need to get up early to do it, but I think it will be worth it.

Sorry if my post at very funny, but maybe they will get that way someday.  BTW, hearing the poop fill your child's diaper is never a good sound, but a very strong warning that you need to be prepared.
